-Bubble feeding 101Cruising north into the Gerlache Strait and then into the Bransfield Strait, we had a Planet Earth experience when we encountered about five Humpback Whales who came together to bubble feed. What this means is a group of whales swim in an ever shrinking circle blowing air bubbles up and under their prey (generally krill) driving their prey to the surface of the water so they can be easily eaten. It's pretty awesome to watch.
**Boneheaded move of the day belongs to me. I did not change out my memory card, nor did I put an extra in my pocket. Therefore during the bubble feeding, I had to leave, run back to our room and grab another memory card. DOH!
